I posted about this once before, but then they changed their name and did a massive overhaul and so I took down the old post in order to give you a more current update. :)

Musiclink.com collects donations to your favorite musical artists. The minimum donation is $10 at a time, but you can spread that out over lots of artists ($2 to each of 5 artists, or however you want to do it). Why would you do this?

I download a lot of my music, because I can't afford many CDs. Even if I could afford CDs, buying them isn't really going to support the artists like this does - most artists get *pennies* per CD you buy. Courtney Love wrote about her experience with the music industry, saying that while her record company made tons of money from her albums with Hole, she recieved about 2 cents per CD sold. This is true of most artists. So if you have $10 to donate, this is pretty cool. Musiclink will collect donations and send a check to whatever artist you want. Some of the artists cash the checks, others donate the money to charities they support.
